Hello! I am the founder of Alison Crites Exhibits. I have more than 15 years of experience working in a variety of institutions, ranging from a regional art center to a large encyclopedic art museum to cultural heritage organizations.
Some of my favorite projects include: co-organizing the first US tour of a global collaborative embroidery project called The Red Dress, recreating the eclectic toy collection of children’s book author and illustrator Ashley Bryan in The Spirit of Joy, developing award-winning digital interactives to bring to life ways of engaging with cultural material from across Asia, and any opportunity to work with community members whose perspectives have left indelible marks on numerous exhibitions.
I hold an M.S. Ed. in Leadership in Museum Education from Bank Street College of Education, an M.A. in International Education Development from Columbia University, and an M.A. in English from Middlebury College. I earned a B.A. in English from Davidson College.
I live with my husband and twin daughters in the NH Seacoast Region, where I can often be found on a trail.
